Why does Life exist?

With our life spans over the centuries have expanded, which were just 35 - 45 years old some millenniums ago, now its in the 80's, 90's and extending over 100 years old. Thinking that the population on earth was only a fraction, compared to 8 billion now.
I am thinking with the increase of energy, and the energy is fed by the ever growing numbers of souls, there are more physical places needed for souls.
maybe I am far off, there is so much to explore.
